Small group reading and writing sessions designed for rising 4th graders in the Hoboken Public School district.

Summer can be fun AND enriching!

Leah has 30 years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of school standards. She’ll help prevent summer slide and set your child up for success in 4th Grade.

Using the proven ThinkSRSD framework, Leah will guide your child and 5 peers through their Grade 4 summer homework while strengthening their reading and writing skills. She will ensure your child is not just ready for the new school year, but confident and equipped to succeed across all subjects.

Register now for our 4-part series!

For just $450 you and your child will get:

Four small-group instructional sessions (max. 6 students per group).

Personalized instruction based on best practices in literacy education.

All materials provided, including the ThinkSRSD framework.

A 45-minute Parent/Caregiver Workshop at the end of the summer, where I’ll explain the approach and share simple, effective ways to support your child’s learning at home.

Please note, no refunds will be issued. However, if an emergency prevents your child from completing the entire series, the balance can be applied toward a future session or resource.

But what will your child actually accomplish? A Lot!

Over four sessions, I’ll leverage the reading-writing connection to improve both reading comprehension and writing composition. Students will learn how to:

Focus on sentence-level reading and writing, understanding how grammar and sentence structure enhance comprehension and composition.

Carefully read and understand questions/prompt, ensuring they know exactly what is required before answering.

Reread texts to pinpoint evidence that supports their responses.

Organize their thoughts before writing, using strategies to structure responses effectively.

Pay attention to vocabulary while reading and learn how to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary into their writing for stronger, more precise expression.

Explore four high-leverage sentence structures that will help them in Grade 4 and beyond.

Leah’s Approach is Unique and Effective

While we will focus on Hoboken Public Schools’ Grade 4 summer homework, I’ll be layering in a structured, research-backed framework called ThinkSRSD (Self-Regulated Strategy Development).

ThinkSRSD equips students with tools to become confident, independent writers—not just for their summer assignments, but for future writing challenges as well.

Through this approach, students will receive:

In-depth comprehension instruction tailored to their summer reading book.

Targeted writing support to strengthen their skills.

Practical strategies for approaching writing with confidence across all subjects.

A structured framework that improves their ability to organize, express, and refine their ideas in writing.
